Liverpool shines against Chelsea in the Premier League

Liverpool FC has impressively underlined its championship ambitions in the English Premier League. The “Reds” literally dispatched Chelsea. Manchester United also won on Thursday evening (02/01/204).

Liverpool FC under German team manager Jürgen Klopp, who will step down after the season, gave Chelsea FC no chance in their 4-1 (2-0) win at Anfield on Wednesday and extended their lead at the top of the table to five points .

Argentinian world champion Julian Alvarez gave the Skyblues the lead (16th/22nd) with a brace, Rodri (46th) decided the game immediately after the break. In the 71st minute, Haaland made his first appearance since December 6th. The Norwegian had to take a break for almost eight weeks due to a stress reaction in his foot.

Arsenal also victorious

On Thursday, record champions Manchester United came closer to the international places. Thanks to the 4:3 (2:0) victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Red Devils moved within one point of sixth-placed West Ham United (1:1 against AFC Bournemouth). Marcus Rashford (5th), Rasmus Höjlund (22nd), Scott McTominay (75th) and Kobbie Mainoo (90th + 7th) scored the goals for the guests’ happy success.

The Wolves were able to equalize in stoppage time after trailing 0-2 and 1-3 and left Manchester worried about victory.
